No Changes Friday At Top of Leaderboard

It's too little, too late, but Paragons moved into the first division Friday by more than doubling every other team's point totals dor the day.  Paragons rallied behind a pair of 25-point team gold medals by Russia (women's synchronized swimming) and the Netherlands (women's field hockey).  Admittedly I don't know much about the sport but it seems likely that this defender, Sophie Polkamp, was key to the Dutch victory.
Despite Polkamp's best efforst, it's still a three-team race for the fantasy championship.  Third place Postmodern Pentathlon moved a bit closer to the leaders and has three aces in the hole as Brazil men's football and USA men's and women's basketball all will compete for gold medals in the Games' final weekend.  Second place Da Nang Dynamos, who previously led for ten straight days, now trail The Jim Thorpes in a near-dead heat.

The Thorpes, however, are guaranteed at least 25 more points with France set to compete in the women's basketball gold medal game Saturday.  The Dynamos could be the odd team out, as a USA victory would bolster Postmodern Pentathlon's chances while a France upset may create too much separation behind The Jim Thorpes.  All in all, there's a legitimate shot that this Fantasy Olympic championship is the most that has ever been riding on a women's basketball game.
